Seth was one of those folks who took over a room - and instantly commanded your attention. He and I had gone to the same university, been in the same fraternity, separated by a few years so I didn't meet him there. I learned about Seth a few years later - as one of those "keep you eyes on him" kinds of guys who was able to translate an idea to a business, and a business into a wild success.
When he started at Everquote - I started to get to know him more via his personal and business connections to brothers from my era - Sanju and Dave Blundin - and we shared the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Whatever the challenges he faced at the time, he started them down, made them small, and marched on - but he was always genuine, honest, and blunt - he was a guy who you could always have an honest, raw conversation with.
I saw him last just a few weeks ago - he'd decided that rather than having another tiresome zoom board call he'd fly down to DC to take the meeting with one of his board members who lives down here. We got a group of friends out for a socially distanced dinner, and we connected, we laughed, we drank, we ate - for a few hours we ignored Covid (despite the masks) and caught up on life, family, work, and more.
Seth - you've left too soon. It was a pleasure and joy knowing you, and the world is less with you gone. Rest in peace,
ITB,
